Best Online Gambling Sites, Big List for Reddit

I thought I’d put together a quick list of the best online gambling sites for the Reddit community. Feel free to add to this list with any of the best ones that I might have missed. Let’s try and make this a go-to resource for anyone who fancies a flutter :)
Here’s my list:
Bovada - Easily the standout choice for sports betting in the U.S. Loads of lines offered, in-play betting available, plus casino and poker games. Great welcome bonus too and it’s a super reputable site.
Ignition - Decent alternative to Bovada. I don’t personally use Ignition but I have a buddy who swears by it. Plus, the reviews on the likes of TrustPilot are highly favourable and it’s definitely a sportsbook you can trust. Best for poker.
PlayOjo - Excellent slots site! Comprehensive selection, lots of specials and again a really reputable site that you can’t go wrong with
Nitrogen Sports - Really good for sports betting but also has casino betting opportunities. Bitcoin accepted, I personally use it now and then for table games. Solid alternative to Bovada (though I use both because you can compare the odds)
LeoVegas - This is both a sportsbook and a casino but I prefer to use it for its casino games. Lots of promos, huge amount of games, good payouts

Notable Black People in the Bitcoin Community

Notable Black People in the Bitcoin Community
We are now in an era where most people on the street have heard of Bitcoin and understand the very basics of what a cryptocurrency is. However, when many people think about users of Bitcoin, there’s a stereotypical person who comes to mind. As the Black Lives Matter movement begins to take hold and sweep the nation demanding change, many people of color are quick to discount Bitcoin, but the reality is, there are many notable black Americans who abundantly use and support the currency as well as advocate that Bitcoin is for everyone.
https://preview.redd.it/2xarzpzh54851.jpg?width=1000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=61991aa0dd0b1760b94c0d9cf148765f4dbe91f2

Bitcoin is for Everyone

When discussing Bitcoin in general, many people believe it’s only for those anti-government libertarians who want to engage in illegal activities, but there’s simply no truth in that statement. Bitcoin is simply a money transfer system backed by a public ledger and quantifiable technology. Have you ever used a pre-paid card? A payday loan? Or a currency exchange booth? Chances are, you have, and if so—well Bitcoin has the potential to offer a cheaper version of all of these currency services if used to its full potential. Shawn Wilkinson, the founder of Storj (a cloud storage service) advocates its massive potential especially in online microloans. He thinks that cryptocurrency as a whole has a lot of power to change the way even the most impoverished communities use money, regardless of race.

Edwardo Jackson

Edwardo Jackson is perhaps one of the most notable black Bitcoin enthusiasts out there. In fact, he is so passionate about the currency, he currently runs a blog called Blacks in Bitcoin. Jackson is a Las Vegas resident and professional poker player, but found his love of Bitcoin while he was a writer for Upworthy in 2013. Jackson believes Bitcoin is still in the early adoption phase and thinks that now is most definitely the time for anyone who is thinking of getting into it to buy in. Currently, Jackson has developed his own blockchain based technology known as CD3D which is a decentralized app-based token which you can use in a game where instead of betting on sports, or the outcomes of elections, you vote on actors and actresses and win money based on their box office performance. This game is still under development and you can check the CinemaDraft websites for updates on when it may be opened for play. Jackson prides himself in his Bitcoin knowledge and wishes to educate everyone about it, so much so, he even hands out his personal phone number to anyone who asks so they can call him if they have questions.

Richard Sherman

You read that right, Richard Sherman, NFC Championship playing defensive back, is a Bitcoin fanatic! Sherman was born in Compton; California and it became clear early on he was destined to be a sports player. He achieved many high school records not only in football, but also as part of his school’s track team. Sherman received a scholarship to attend Stanford university where he played on their team from 2006-2010. In 2011, Sherman was signed by the Seattle Seahawks and played with the team for many years until 2018 when he signed a 39-million-dollar contract with the 49ers. He is very public about his love of cryptocurrency and his many investments in the technology field, so much so, he even takes Bitcoin for payment in his online store for all of his Seahawks and 49ers merchandise.

Reggie Middleton

Reggie Middleton is an American entrepreneur and CEO of Vertiseum. Middleton’s claim to fame began in the early 2000’s as a financial writer for the Huffington Post. In 2011, he left his job there to start his own company and blog, Boom Bust Blog. He was an early adopter of Bitcoin, citing that its ability to be quickly, and largely, transferred making it one of the best methods of currency currently on the market. He also advocates how safe and cheap it is to transfer Bitcoin as opposed to using cash or the banking system, which has many caveats and difficulties as well as rising costs. Just think, to make a transfer from one bank to the other you either need to withdraw cash and physical drive it from one bank to another to avoid massive fees. If fees don’t scare you, you can wire the money, but this still takes gas, time, and often times there are limits on the amount you can transfer. Bitcoin solves all of these problems. Middleton loves crypto currencies so much, he founded Vertiseum, an Ultracoin technology. Although the legalities of his ICO are currently under scrutiny, Middleton still stands behind his advocacy of cryptocurrencies and posts many YouTube videos educating the public on the many uses of them in everyday life.

Black Influencers to Follow

Want to learn more about Bitcoin before you dive right in? Understandable! There are many influencers of color who know a lot about the cryptocurrency world! Check out Dr. Boyce Watkins, a financial scholar who offers numerous courses in cryptocurrency for beginners as well as an internet club for investors. He also runs Financial Juneteenth, a cryptocurrency group specifically for black investors and it is currently one of the largest cryptocurrency-based communities on the internet, so make sure you pay it a visit!
Lamar Wilson is another notable influencer, widely known for building his own blockchain company Hijro, as well as a cryptocurrency wallet, back before it was even cool! He contributes abundantly to the Financial Juneteenth group listed above, as well as teaches a class about investing in cryptocurrencies on the Black Business School site.
Also follow Ian Balina, a man famous for his unique approach to ICO’s thanks to his analytics background and former employment at IBM. He currently leads a global cryptocurrency investor syndicate, and posts content on YouTube, Twitter, and Instagram. Balina’s content is so revolutionary that he has been featured in numerous articles in many different magazines, most notably Forbes and Huffington Post.
If after following all of these people you are still a little lost when it comes to cryptocurrency, don’t worry! It’s a confusing field at first. Just remember that cryptocurrency is for everyone and it make take time to learn about the ins and outs of the high-level technology. There are many websites which offer free guides you can take advantage of to help you find your way. So, subscribe to a few of them, investigate your questions, and you’ll be a cryptocurrency pro in no time!

Addiction

Illinois legalized weed yesterday by way of our state legislature, as opposed to a voter-approved ballot measure. We're the first state to legalize weed this way. The new law goes on the books 1/1/2020.
There are some real pluses to this thing, including clearing the records of people who got busted for 30 grams or less. Anyone who got tagged for between 30-500 grams can petition the courts for expungement. This could involve as many as 750,000 cases.
Communities hit hardest by prohibition can cut the line on the licensing process as "social equity applicants" as well as benefit from $30million put into a low-interest loan program for those same communities to launch start up weed shops. (This will boil the blood of people who consider the black community to be a "victim constituency" ...which makes me like it even more.)
Per Marijuana Moment Taxes on cannabis sales would be based in part on THC concentration. Flower containing up to 35 percent THC would be taxed at 10 percent, whereas products with more than 35 percent THC would be taxed at 25 percent. Cannabis-infused products would be subject to a 20 percent tax. The state’s 6.25 percent sales tax would also apply, with local jurisdictions having the option to impose an additional 3.5 percent tax.
I've never had flower with more than 35% THC, nor do I expect to. I think 30% is the highest level I've ever tried. It was plenty.
Pritzker's budget includes expected revenue from weed taxes, with some studies saying it could bring in as much as $500million in 2020.
My state rep is a guy named Marty Moylan. He's a Democrat from Des Plaines. For those of you from out of state Des Plaines is pronounced Dess Planes, which I'm sure pleases Luis Jolliet & Jacques Marquette to no end. Marty voted against legalizing weed, saying it's addictive and destructive. So fuck Marty Moylan.
In related news, Marty has a fucking casino in his town and I'll be very interested to see how Marty votes on legalized sports betting today, or maybe tomorrow. They're working Sunday, because the next legislative get-together is in October.
I'm against legalized sports betting. It's actually addictive, unlike weed, and it truly has destroyed countless lives, unlike weed. Unless you count weed prohibition, and the lives it fucked up.
Back in the day I had the pleasure of working with a large number of degenerate gamblers. The limo company I drove for was owned by a dickhead named George Jacobs. George was (maybe still is) the head of the Illinois Chapter of Gamblers Anonymous. George recruited limo drivers at the GA meetings. Of the 250-300 drivers he employed I'd guess that no fewer than 40% were people who came from Gamblers Anonymous, including Vyto Spakauskus, a member of my golf foursome for about 10 years.
One day at a local track named Cog Hill, our regular course, we were on the 7th hole when Vyto announced he had to leave. He called up to the pro shop and asked them to send out a cart to pick him up. Told us he had an emergency and he would explain later. About 5 holes later, the Cog Hill people shuttled Vyto back out to us and he finished the round. We finally got him to tell us what the fuck was wrong. He had forgotten to buy the daily $30 in Lotto tickets for himself & his 80 year old mother and tonight was the big roll-over, monster, gajillion dollar blah blah blah.
I simmered with fucking anger for the last 5 holes. When we got to the 19th hole and ordered a pitcher of beer I explained to Vyto that he was out of the group. As I explained to him...I love you buddy, but you're a 49 year old man who lives with his mother. You're a degenerate gambler to begin with, but even worse than that you're a degenerate gambler who gambles on possibly the dumbest game ever invented. You spend almost a grand a month on the stupid fucking Lotto despite the fact that you're in debt up to your fucking eyeballs. And that's your problem, not mine. You want to flush your money down the toilet, by all means go right ahead. But here's the thing Vyto...you borrowed money from me to pay for your fucking golf, and then you walked out in the middle of the round. So fuck you. Get help.
I was a former limo driver by that point so the only time I ever saw Vyto was at Cog Hill on Fridays, so it came as no surprise that was the last thing I ever said to Vyto. Never spoke to each other again. I got a call recently from another member of the old foursome. Mark lives in Vegas now. Just called to shoot the shit, and in the process he asks me if I heard about Vyto. I said something like "No, but is this about Bitcoin?" Turns out Vyto's mom died, left him the house, and something like six months later he had pissed away the house playing the poker machines at a casino in Aurora. The whole house. Supposedly something like $140,000. Took out a reverse mortgage and blew it all gambling on possibly the second dumbest form of gambling ever invented.
Don't know exactly why I'm so adamantly opposed to gambling, but I am, and especially sports betting. It's the only vice I can think of that riles up the puritan in me. I'm a huge sports fan, and I can only see bad shit happening when gambling and pro sports start inter-mingling. Players and referees are human beings. Some can be bought for the right price. There's a reason the Black Sox were all permanently banned from baseball. Pete Rose same. Whether it's Tim Donaghy fucking around with the spread in NBA games, Northwestern running back Dennis Lundy shaving points, or the Boston College basketball team doing same the lines get blurred. One doesn't have to "throw a game" to see how gambling can fuck up the integrity of a contest. Those cases all came when gambling was illegal. Imagine what it will be like now.
If we're going to talk about destructive addictions I can say with certainty that gambling is one of them. I suppose it goes back to all my interaction with twelve-stepping chauffeurs. I mean sure, if somebody wants to fuck up their life that's their business but don't fuck up my golf game.

Can this be my last NBA bet or actually my last bet in life?! Please read

I haven't posted here yet, well, at least haven't posted a detailed story that accounts part of my gambling as I don't think I can describe it all here.
I'm 33 years old, married+2, and unfortunately I think I've been gambling since I was 15 or 16.

I mostly place bets on sports, sports betting, looking for an edge, but this "edge" is a myth, gambling is a myth, the only ones making money from it are the websites who take cut from each bet or their affiliates promoting their sites - the gamblers are in the bottom of the chain, but yet the addictive behavior is not something that is easy to overcome.

Long story, short, this week I even purchased a pick from a website, I know paying for picks is the WORST thing you can ever do to yourself ... the game on Sunday 5 days ago was OKC @ BOSTON in the NBA, the line was 226.5, I took the under, before the game started it was 228.5 - I was basing the bet on the fact it was the day of the Super Bowl, and all games ended early to allow time for people to watch the Super Bowl ... there were only 3 games in the NBA, 2 went under and this only one went with 250 points or something like that ... I put around $2,500 on this one, after losing $2,000 before then, approx.

I installed Gamblock on my laptop after this, in fact I did it whilst the game was still played as I saw no way the under is going to win ... Gamblock is a very powerful software but I could still access gambling in my phone and I'm very reluctant to install it in my phone, especially because it blocks too many links, even if the site has just gambling in the domain name - it automatically blocks it - I'm thinking of formatting my laptop because of it as I don't think these blocks will help me long term, not sure anyways .... let's keep on moving with the story.

So today is Friday in my time zone (Thursday evening in the US), I used my phone to check the NBA games being played tonight and noticed LA Lakers play @ Boston, when I checked the line like 16 hours before the game, just when the lines went out - the line was 221.5 - and then it went up and up and up and up - to 227.5 ... I told myself this is weird, why the oddsmakers raise the line by so much before the game even started, I was thinking about it throughout the day, wasn't sure if I should take an action or not ... but the more I thought about it the more I was so sure this will hit the under .. I told myself the Lakers don't score well like OKC and this is the same line I had on Sunday.

So I even paid $30 for a pick from someone who only had a pick for the total for this game, and unlike the pick on Sunday that was from someone who had 18-2 run in the NBA - this one was moderate, I preferred someone moderate, the pick was said to be coming "straight from the vegas oddsmakers" and this and that ... so I paid for it and then I saw .... yes, he is calling the under too... so I felt this sense of urgency - I have to make this bet, I just have to, I would get lots of my losses back!

And here comes the twist:
I was about to transfer $4,200 from the Business PayPal account to convert it to Bitcoin and then deposit this Bitcoin to this gambling website ... when I was about to make the transfer PayPal showed the fee for the transfer would be $84 (to send it as "Mass Payment" so the other recipient won't pay a fee).
Don't ask me why, I felt on that moment a STOP ... I told myself no, you know what, I won't make that transfer, I am not going to risk another $4,200 from my hard earned income.
So somehow I managed NOT to make that deposit - the "sad" or "happy" thing in this story? I had $70 left in my Bitcoin account, I told myself - well, this bet still gotta win so let's put $70 and that's it ... I told myself I would probably feel so sad for not taking that BIG action risking the whole $4k. A gambler's mind .... what can you say.

The game is happening now, I woke up around 3am in my time zone to watch the odds, I don't even watch the game itself, I just watch the odds in a popular betting site, I mean I watch the scores/odds with my phone, from time to time I go to other sites, like I don't follow up with every little second of the game ... long story short - I was kinda "sad" in the beginning, LAL and Boston barely scored at the beginning of the 1st quarter, the live line went to 219.5, twice with timeouts - I felt like "oh, you see, too bad you didn't risk the whole $4k on this one, this is going way under" (PS that's how the OKC-BOS game started too, with low scoring in the beginning).

Well, the last time I checked the odds was at half time, the live line was 234.5 - they scored much more, that's 7 points more than what I had bet on, and honestly I don't know how it will end - but I do somehow "appreciate" it - that you really cannot tell how these games will go by, and in some way in the 2nd quarter I actually wanted this $70 bet to lose or to be on the way there, I was rooting for them to score as I wanted to be proven, that no matter how I try to approach this - the randomness and the unpredictability of these events along with the bookies' "juice" - is simply not worth it - makes it a game of losers!

In fact, I calculated that if I would have to use Bitcoin and then convert it back to PayPal or cash or whatever - the odds I would get won't even be 1.96 - it would be 1.80 or so - because PayPal takes fees, Bitcoin exchanges take fees and what's not!!

The only thing that annoys me in all this is that Bitcoin made it possible to bet more easily - before Bitcoin I could have self-excluded myself from a site and that's it - I cannot place bets anymore, and it worked perfectly for me, it was truly a cure for me - this self exclusion.
But with Bitcoin you can bet anonymously, no one cares if you had 5-6 previous closed accounts or even if you used the same IP address, you can just deposit again and again ... the only "motivation" out of this is that to buy Bitcoin you have to pay fees - and those fees make the bookies' juice unattractive - so that's the only light at the end of the tunnel for me - because for me if the bet has no value then I have less motivation to place it - but you know what? NO BET HAS ANY VALUE when I come to think about it!!

The best value you can find is by not betting at all.
Thanks for reading and feel free to respond or share or express what you think.

I still have enough to be like f* it, I’ll just hodl an get rich in 5 years. But lost enough to make me not want to gamble ever again. However it was just one drunken night and I had proven over time I can make money online. * just to note I gamble in Vegas regularly and win considerably 8-10 times. However online gambling is its own beast, live betting no sports.

I have a problem.. I don't know how to fix

I'm addicted to sports betting. I have the self awareness to know this, yet I don't have the self control/discipline to stop myself.. I always think the next hit will be enough and I'll cash out. But it never is enough. Win or lose, I'll be back on the horse again tomorrow either to win it back or double it up.
The satisfaction of winning overcomes/outweighs the logic. There is no EV. There is no edge. It's me vs the smartest people in the business. Yet I have the urge to take Vegas on and get my own each time. I put my hard earned money at stake when I know the cards are stacked against me. Hell, even small bookies copying lines from Bovada probably make a killing.
I just lost a lot last night.. Chasing losses. I keep looking at the games today. Trying to find my golden geese again.
Where do I start? Do I set a goal and cash out? Do I quit cold turkey? I know I can win, I just need to learn when to stop.
Any advice would be kindly appreciated. Thank you, -BitstoBitcoin

Had dinner with a top tier bitcoin.com guy, here's what he said about XRP...

Had a really great conversation over dinner tonight with a bitcoin.com high up guy. From what it seems, he's Roger Ver's right hand dude and works closely with him. They're all here in Spain from this recent Crypto Cruise that went down.
Our chat was incredibly productive and I really appreciated how smart he was and how little ego he had. He did not suffer from the delusion of treating certain cryptos like sports team and was really open minded on all the tech that's going on in this space, but....
It stuns me that even really SMART people in the know like this guy have also fallen for the XRP falsehoods out there. Now, this guy isn't a ripple supporter and hey, thats fine by me. I dont expect him to know every detail of something he's not invested in and doesn't believe in.
But he asked me to be cautious with Ripple for 2 reasons. 1. They can freeze accounts (I don't need to explain in this group that this has been disproven, You can just follow David Schwartz's twitter feed to find that out) and 2. That ripple is completely centralized and they hold a lot of xrp. I couldn't really fault him on the last point because as a technicality thats true, but I explained its now how it is in reality.
He was open to my explanations and actually said he hadn't had it put to him in those terms and would do more homework on XRP. So I was really pleased by how open and enjoyable the conversation was on crypto as a whole....but here is the point I want to make...
There's a thing in sports gambling where sharp professional betters typically will bet AGAINST the popular choice. It's a profitable strategy because the general population are like lemmings. Something looks good, so more people pile on and the more that pile on the more they think it's a sign that it's a sure thing...
And then they lose and vegas and the sharp betters make a ton of money.
And that's what's happening with Ripple. Most of the crypto universe is going the other way. Not doing their homework. Not researching their investment. Not sifting through all of the information and thinking critically for themselves. This only makes me MORE bullish on XRP as I love being against popular sentiment. Hope you enjoyed the read.

begrudgingly joining this sub

i have been reading this sub for over a year, i have a serious problem with gambling in any form and an addictive personality. this all started for me in 2004 in college when online poker hit espn. i was in college and all of my friends and i started playing online poker and cash games around our house. this was back when full tilt was in its prime so it seemed like a fun video game. the two worst things that ever happened to me, one was signing up on party poker and somehow turning 100 into 3000, i was playing every hand and sucking out on everyone. i thought i was a good player, thinking back on this now i suspect that they had some cheat going on that allowed new players to win a lot to hook them. i obviously lost this all back over the course of the next month. the second worst thing was when i turned 100 to 4000 playing online blackjack on party poker, i thought i was a professional gambler. i of course lost it all back within a week, i remember playing 1000 on 4 hands of blackjack and the dealer pulling a 21.
this was when i felt the first depression and desperation that gambling could do, i would then go on to lose a lot of money at the local card room and online over my college years, fast forward to 2007 when i graduated college luckily without a dime to my name and met a girl working at the local grocery store. she was not a gambler, i moved with her across the country and somehow forgot about gambling, of course this didn't last long as in 2011 i followed an ad from 5dimes for a free bet. i parlayed 20 money line college games and won 1000 with the free bet. i then thought, okay i suck at poker and blackjack but i can be a good handicapper. things didnt work out with the girl so i moved back home and i somehow paid for the trip with my sportsbetting winnings. convinced that i was good and using it as a replacement for the long term relationship i continued to sports bet from 2012 - 2016. i continually won and lost on sports beting and online blackjack while throwing all of my hard earned money into western union deposits and bitcoin deposits. i remember one time when i won i had 6 bitcoin (worth about 200 a piece at the time) if only i had stopped and saved those would be worth a lot today...
fast forward to 2016 i won 10 bets in a row on the warriors and was up 19K, of course i was still in the red lifetime, but i felt invincible and began to chase and make bigger bets. i eventually lost it all back and ended up back at square one with nothing to my name.
i then started going to a local casino where i discovered a game called baccarat, this is the devil. one night i turned 2000 into 6000 and i was convinced that it was the best odds in the casino and i assuredly could win big playing this. i managed to lose the 6000 plus another 10000 and i called it quits in july of 2017 (the first day i came to this sub)
i have been lurking on this sub to try and use it as a way to help me stop gambling, and it worked for a while as i put together 6 months clean. however one day at work a co-worker was talking about going to vegas, and that somehow led me to the casino (not blaming my friend, im stating of how innocent of a conversation awakened the beast inside me because i had my guard down) this was in march of this year. starting in april i went to the casino once a week and was staying balanced in life (so i thought) i was up around 1000 when i entered a poker tournament and then won first place (2900 prize) with this new confidence and thinking i had everything under control i decided i would try my luck again at poker and began practicing to enter the WSOP. over the 2 months of "practicing" i lost about 10000 and figured it was money put to good use as i was "relearning" and then i went to vegas and didn't do well in the tournament but i left the trip even (paying for the buyins with degenerate baccarat and blackjack temporary winnings) so i continued to play after i got back glued to the computer playing online poker tournaments and i have dumped another 20000 away.
this all sounds terrible typing out but i just go done with the last of my online poker and i just am tired of losing, i have dug myself a huge hole, i know i could have bought a house with the money i have lost in my lifetime and i am just so angry at myself for continuing to go back, i should have known from that day back in 2004 that gambling isn't right and i have a problem.
the good news is i am still relatively young and if i stop today, i could potentially rebuild. anyways long story, i just needed to tell somebody. thanks for reading.

Anybody "addicted" to parlays?

I don't really bet single games. Winning ~$50 on a $50 bet doesn't really excite me. But I'm not going to risk $1000 to win a ~$1000. So I end up playing these parlays for the bigger payoff. I know, the math doesn't work out. But I love the thrill of the big payout. Sometimes I'll do just a 2 team (like Stanford Texas, fucking Texas!) but more often than not I love the crazy 4-5 team parlays. Only recently started sports betting when I discovered Bitcoins. Previously I was just table card gambling in Vegas a few times a year. Actually made a little money. Unfortunately lost it all playing blackjack on Bovada. Starting to think BJ on Bovada is rigged!

The Bitcoin Financing Case Accepted By Chinese Court For The First Time A loan dispute caused by the Bitcoin pledge has been put on file in Wuchang District People’s Court, Hubei Province (lying in central China). According to the indictment, the defendant pledged Bitcoin to borrow money from the plaintiff to bet on the rise of the king coin. During the Bitcoin decline cycle in 2018, the plaintiff took measures to liquidate the position forcibly, but still suffered some losses. The defendant does not acknowledge the loan relationship, falling to a material breach. Lawyer SUN Jun from Shanghai SHENHAO Law firm indicated that the financial attribute of Bitcoin would be recognized for the first time in China.

PGA: No Frills DFS Data - Bernhard With A Vengeance & RBC II: Satoshi's Island

Click here for an introduction of me and the PGA model
Masters Recap
So happy for Tiger. So happy the bookmakers lost millions as well.
My Bernharding Question
So fitting that just like the terrorists in Die Hard, Bernhard too is a German and last week he terrorized me. You may recall how much difficulty I had trying to incorporate someone like him in my model. And then, at one point he was putting together a pretty nice run and it made me think all the more about my model. It is normally nice to have a distraction when you have to look at these mementos of failure for 4 days. But this didn’t help, it only made things worse. I had horrible lineups and this geriatric German was pissing all over my model.
I didn’t just have horrible lineups in my all Hideki all the time strategy. In a week where I chased binary outcomes, I got the 0 instead of the 1. But to make matters far worse, in all my hype for the Masters I had registered a whole bunch of tables throughout the week (and would regularly register for more as they became available). I’d be doing some baseball stuff and figure “hey let’s see what new golf tables are available.” I was kind of on autopilot and hadn’t realized just how many exactly that I did register and by the time I realized what I’d done, it was too late.
If I had a chance I’d still roll out Hideki all over again, but would have cut back my cash investment a good 80% at least. The worst part of it is it mostly went poof in 10 mans, which are the scourge of DFS. It doesn’t matter how good you are, those things are viper pits always full of the top players. In this instance it didn’t matter who I played but there are so many spots out there to distribute bankroll that really nobody should ever play 10 mans unless it’s veteran restricted. I will happily create $109 h2hs every baseball slate and sometimes go up to $500 but I won’t be caught dead in most $1 10 mans. Golf is much softer than a sport like baseball, so I do venture in 10 mans there, but still, I shouldn’t have committed so much so foolishly into such a competitive field. What makes 10 mans even more poor a decision is there isn’t any upside to them with only 9 other people so you’re arguably taking on 3-5 of the guys who’ll finish top 10 in the 100 man yet in format with only 3-5 pay slots. It’s just dumb and this was an expensive lesson. No more 10 mans for any denomination that I wouldn’t feel comfortable tipping into a g string. Well… unless there’s overlay :)
I also want to clarify, this wasn’t results oriented. If I won them all I’d still feel the same. I felt that way the moment after lock when the amount in play was suddenly shoved in my face. I invested that much, in 10 mans, against arguably the best 7 or 8 golf dfsers out there… dumb dumb dumb. I still haven’t finished my bankroll long read, but not playing 10 man’s is going to be a key ingredient.
But back to Bernhard. After much agonizing asking myself what he was worth and whether or not he was playable, I realized how foolish I was being. One of the things I learned early on in my other projections is not to get too caught up in the details. Don’t try to project for a backup quarterback coming in mid game. Don’t bother trying to analyze and guess which random receiver is going to come off the bench for 2 plays and catch a Drew Brees TD. Don’t bother projecting for TE after the top 10 (and even that is pushing it).
The daily nature of my bread and butter which is baseball let’s me better roll with the variance. You see the guys you didn’t like pop homeruns and the guys you love go 0/5 and realize that on an individual slate nothing matters. I don’t have to play Mike Trout despite that my projections say he’s the best play every single night. Likewise, if I just feel like playing the 4th highest projected starter then so long as he’s not significantly more expensive than the other 3 I should go ahead and have at it. Like today, Matt Adams wasn’t all that high on my projections. I didn’t care, I liked his raw HR equity and place in the batting order and I played him anyway. Projections are guidelines and nothing more. In baseball, my projections are the invisible hand that influence the path but don’t shape it. It’s like this for me in the sports where I really excel like baseball and football, my work give me nothing more than very soft guidelines. They help me make better decisions, they don’t control my destiny.
I was letting my golf projections control my destiny. I was stressing out over giving the Bernhard question a DFS solution that I didn’t take a step back for perspective. Bernhard was an all time great, but for DFS he doesn’t matter. He’s that backup quarterback. So why am I even remotely interested in trying to project for someone not even on my player pool radar. I shouldn’t even have someone like Bernhard available for my optimizer to troll me like that.
To Bernhard. I can’t thank you enough for helping me smash the pedestal I put my golf model and projections upon. It was the pain and torture you gave me trying to figure out how I should project someone like you where I realized that very little of what I am doing actually matters. From this point onwards I’m not going to be adhering to such strict lineup construction.
Thank you Bernhard, prost!
Now that we’ve dealt with ze Germans, on to the Japanese.

Return of Satoshi
This is it, this course here is the beginning of my journey down discovering how OWGR is such a useless system. All thanks to Mr. Bitcoin himself, Satoshi Kodaira. This may have been Satoshi’s Island but likely won’t be again. That’s why the returning champ has vegas odds of 150:1 against him winning. If you guys love course history narratives and OWGR then that’s the most profitable bet imaginable.
Actually, I want to do a replacement ranking system based off FIDE and call it TIGER. I’m dead serious, if anyone wants to help contribute to that please get in touch, would love some collaborators and not even sure where to start.
Taking a lesson from Bernhard, this as far as we’ll go with Bitcoin.

The Original Player Pool
These are all the players my optimizer spit out. As always, in order of exposure. It’s a much wider pool this week – a lot of that has to do with course history conflicting with traditional performance indicators. It also has a lot to do with many of the players having insufficient data.

I was very surprised this wasn’t an all DJ build. DJ is head and shoulders above the rest in my rankings. I think a lot of this is price oriented. Either way, I’m pleasantly pleased by that because I have a feeling he’ll be so highly owned this slate I’d prefer to keep him mostly confined to cash and single entry.
Really don’t like how much it likes Moore, don’t have a good reason. But taking a page from ole Bernhard, I won’t be playing nearly as much of him as it recommends as a result. Same goes for Long and Trahan.

What? No Reavie?
I couldn’t believe it, my model that I jokingly referred to as the Chez Reavie model when I started this blog 100% faded Chez Reavie, someone it usually really likes. It doesn’t even necessarily have any problems with him either – it thinks he’s alright in the ranking.
This is actually an incredibly nice development. It really shows that player stats are fluid enough that the model won’t just get locked in on certain things all year. Much like I was locked in on Ilya Kovalchuk and Anze Kopitar most of the early NHL season, I just couldn’t get past their glory days and kept on believing the breakout was around the corner. At least Joe Thornton held up.

Sungjae Im
Byeong Hun An
Tommy Fleetwood
Dustin Johnson
Joel Dahmen

Kyoung-Hoon Lee

This is a nice distribution, the top guys are all about 50% and then the others pop up here and there. I may make a few pivots (Cameron Champ, Wyndham Clark) and still haven’t chosen my cash lineup yet but I’m pretty happy with this build – which should be pretty low ownership at the top I’m hoping.

Good luck everyone

Why you should play for bitcoins only and on bitcoin-only sites

This is long, but it is important, it is about MONEY. Read it carefully, if you want to know a little bit about why you don't have as much of it as you should !!
Hi, greetings everyone, I am the person who is responsible for more bitcoin-only poker action than anyone else in the world. I've been playing these sites for years now, and immediately told everyone I knew, back when bitcoins were $2, to buy them so we could all play poker with them. The fact is, the money and the store of value of bitcoin is much superior to dollars.
Bitcoin is a decentralized, digital currency that anyone with internet access can acquire. You can purchase bitcoins from various exchanges and keep them stored on your computer or online.
To illustrate this concept, consider that the minimum wage in 1976 was $1.25 and could be paid as 5 silver quarters. Today, the melt value of those 5 silver quarters is actually more than $15, so minimum wage has actually gone DOWN. This is because inflation, which FUCKS the little guy, who doesn't have a lot of money, in favor of the big cheese's who can afford to store their value in expensive things like rare art, large quantities of precious metals, and land. These are the things the wealthy have always used to store their money long-term, to avoid the inevitable drain of inflation. However, there is now this other thing, cryptocurrency. You can store your money and it will INCREASE in value over time, if you save it, which makes a lot more sense to me! 2k in the bank is worth like 1900 effectively in a year, but 2k in bitcoins in a year will likely be worth 3k+. It only makes sense to store at least some money in bitcoins, you wouldn't go allin on any investment, so why be allin on US dollars as a currency?
Now, I started spreading the word about playing for bitcoins in 2012, but very few people heard me. Today, almost every major site accepts bitcoins as a deposit method. However, they virtually all keep your balance in USD, which as I've mentioned, goes DOWN in value over time, versus UP, so that's bad. They also screw you on the exchange rate, both depositing and withdrawing. Fuck that.
There are 3 sites I play on, they all keep your balance in BTC, so if you win a BTC and it goes up to 3k tomorrow, you're now up 3k. Much better than the alternative of playing on USD based sites !!
Swc Poker has freerolls you can get your feet wet in. Also very small stakes tournaments where you can get a lot of experience for a short fee. It also has rare game mixes such as 8 game, 12 game mix, with all the draw games like badugi and badeucy, and it has open face chinese pinapple as well. These games are offered on virtually no other US-facing sites !!
Nitrogen Sports is one of the best sites out there for gambling, the best sports book in the world in my opinion, and they have a poker room that gets decent traffic and action from fun players who are there for betting sports !!
Betcoin dot ag is cool too, it shares tournaments with other major networks, so you get a ton of fun tournaments to play with massive fields, which doesn't happen on these other networks. If you like MTTs, definitely check out this site, and they pay you the tourney winnings in bitcoin, so if you win 100k, it might be worth 200k in a few months !!
If I were you, I'd look into using bitcoin to play on these sites. If you're a winning poker player, it will be good for you, and if you're a recreational player, you will likely benefit from this as well.
If anyone is in vegas right now, and has questions, I'd be happy to meet up, please PM me and we can set up a meeting. I will exchange BTC for USD, or USD for BTC, both at market rates, I simply want to provide liquidity to poker players who use BTC, so I am happy to do this.

For providing these important services, Masternode owners are rewarded a portion of each block.
Block Rewards will be split between POS and Masternodes as follows: 20% POS / 80% Masternodes The block reward is 90% to Masternodes and 10% to Miners. After block 43200 the reward is split 80% to Masternodes and 20% to staking.

Bitcoin Investing 101: Trading, Gambling, and Real Estate

Bitcoin Investment Strategy Comparison Chart
Bitcoin has been a sound investment since 2012, offering over a 1000% return on investment through this year. While there have been more market peaks than valleys during the past 5 years, some Bitcoin holders are seeking a more efficient way to receive even higher returns on their BTC. Bitcoin Forum members post daily asking about and commenting on the best strategies for Bitcoin investing. In this post we will discuss three popular ways to invest Bitcoin.
Where to Invest BTC?
Cryptocurrency Trading
The cryptocurrency world is expanding with the creation of new altcoins and app tokens almost every day. Altcoins and app token are typically created for a purpose or project that accomplishes a goal that is more specific than a general cash equivalent like Bitcoin. If Bitcoin is comparable to cash, altcoins and app tokens are comparable to gift cards; they can only be used at one store, but may become more valuable if that store offers a limited supply product with a high demand. Using this analogy makes it easier to understand why investing in altcoins and apptokens could be a lucrative venture. Altcoins have no intrinsic value, like a plastic gift card. But if the cryptocurrency project develops an innovative service or product for consumers, then the altcoin will become valuable enough to exchange with Bitcoin, a cash equivalent. Investing Bitcoin into an altcoin project when the initial value is low, and selling the altcoin for Bitcoin when the value rises or project is successful, is how cryptocurrency traders make returns on their Bitcoin investments.
The risks of cryptocurrency trading should also be considered. What happens if the project ceases operations? What happens if the altcoin or app token is not distributed to investors as the developer promised? What happens if there is an unforeseen event that causes investors to dump their altcoins? Most altcoin and app token projects, like any startup, offer tons of potential for success in the long term but are risky investments in the short term. A new altcoin initially valued at $5 could jump to $8 or $9 in its opening weeks. However, if the project lacks momentum, consistency, or credibility then coin investors may become dissatisfied and cause the valuation to stagnate or decrease to $2 or $3 per coin. The cryptocurrency trading market is as free as any capitalist could hope for, but deregulated open markets can be a two-edged sword for altcoin and app token traders.
Trading Discussion
Casino Gambling and Betting
Gambling and betting are probably society's oldest ways to make "quick" money and this holds true for the modern day as well. The premise of Bitcoin gambling sites is almost self explanatory. If there is a Bitcoin balance in your wallet you can signup for an online casino to gamble slots, card games, table games, and sports bet with your coins. Winning payouts are distributed in Bitcoin back to your wallet. Some casino sites have their own altcoin or app token that must be used to gamble or bet; think of it as buying tokens to play games at Dave & Busters.
Gambling and betting are the quickest ways to earn high returns on your Bitcoin. You may remain anonymous and do not need to go to Las Vegas to play poker or tip the server for your drinks. If you are good at sports betting, then a small Bitcoin fortune can be made after every game. One thing that should be noted is that there is a standard for online casinos called Provably Fair. Make sure that the Bitcoin casino you choose is Provably Fair.
Gambling and betting are also the quickest ways to lose all of your Bitcoin. They have the highest risk of all Bitcoin investments, just like a real life casino or maybe even worse. There actually may be better chances of winning by going to Las Vegas and gambling in person. At least a real casino is not controlled by one person, or computer, or whomever may be operating the site on the other side of the screen. And how can a casino website really be "Provably Fair"? The point of the casino is to make money, right? And there is little to no recourse for online gambling...so, please be careful and only wager Bitcoin that you can afford to lose.
Gambling
Real Estate
According to Capitalism.org, capitalism is defined as, "a social system based on the recognition of individual rights, including property rights, in which all property is privately owned." Capitalism, Bitcoin, and real estate share synergies that form the most stable and secure returns of any cryptocurrency investment strategy. Property ownership is a staple of generational wealth; it is an asset that provides financial security now and in the future.
Real estate investing with Bitcoin allows investors to diversify their portfolio with a traditional asset in the property, and new age asset in the Bitcoin itself. In this case, both assets have an intrinsic value and a market value that appreciates over time. While the returns on real estate investing may not be as high in the short term as cryptocurrency trading or gambling, in the long term they are by far the most secure and consistent out of the three options.
Real estate is the only investment that is tangible and can be insured for the full amount. Bitcoin real estate investing is even more secure than putting Bitcoin in a cold storage, offline vault (wallet). A Bitcoin vault may be lost or stolen, but if the Bitcoin is invested into a property, the property cannot be lost or stolen if it is insured. If you ever need to know where your coins are invested, you can visit the property in person.
